Dr. Geoffrey Phillips
Executive Clinical Advisor
Dr. Geoffrey Phillips, MD, ABPN, serves as executive clinical advisor at AMFM Healthcare, where he provides clinical leadership and psychiatric oversight across the organization’s behavioral health programs. With decades of experience in cognitive therapy, addiction medicine, and psychiatric care, he plays a key role in supporting multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based care.
Dr. Phillips is board certified in psychiatry and was part of the inaugural group of physicians certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM), reflecting his long-standing expertise in treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. His clinical background includes extensive work across inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings, as well as leadership roles directing both psychiatric and addiction treatment programs.
He completed his medical degree and residency in psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine, where he also served as chief resident. He received advanced training in cognitive therapy at the Beck Institute and has contributed to the development of future clinicians by teaching cognitive therapy to psychiatry residents at the University of California, Irvine, and the University of California, Riverside.
Dr. Phillips has served as an attending psychiatrist at multiple hospitals, including Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange, Anaheim Global Medical Center, Chapman Global Medical Center, Royale Health Care, and the Long Beach VA Medical Center. His leadership experience spans nearly two decades of hospital-based and private practice care, working with diverse and complex patient populations.
At AMFM Healthcare, Dr. Phillips integrates his expertise in cognitive therapy and psychiatric medicine to strengthen clinical programming and support high standards of care across all service lines. His work ensures that treatment remains both clinically rigorous and responsive to the unique needs of each client.
